Firmware

The ROM Emulator runs the SidecarTridge TOS and Kickstart firmware. Their changelogs list every change in user terms: TOS, Kickstart.

4.0.0 (2026-10-10)

• The volume opens only when a computer talks on the USB‑C cable during the first 2 seconds after power-on.
• REBOOT restarts the emulation instead of opening the volume again.
• RESCUE_TIMEOUT and ACCELERATED_BUS in CONFIG.TXT.
• With a default image it cannot serve, the module serves the rescue image instead.
• The firmware refuses to run on a board it was not made for.
• Works only with the SWITCHER 4.0.0 and the rescue switcher 4.0.0.

3.1.0 (2026-02-01)

Maintenance release, and the first rescue switcher.
